Pillows

I had a garage sale a few times this summer. There were some items that did not sell. As I was putting the items that didn't sell into a garbage bag to haul to D.I., I came across this skirt that I just loved. I bought it for the fabric. I just loved the pattern and liked how light weight the material was. Unfortunately I never got a chance to wear it (due to my rapidly increasing waistline). I also came across this light cotton blouse. I've had this little cotton blouse for almost a decade. I think I got it at The Wet Seal.
I kept it around for so long because, well, I looked good in it. Then, after I couldn't wear it I kept it because, once again, I loved the fabric. The detailed embroidery and the little lace trim...I couldn't find anything similar that I liked.

So I decided to turn them into pillow covers. I found 2 small pillows at DI for $1 each.

I also found in my sewing box a leftover button from a favorite sweater I wore in Boston.

This is the backside. I also used the zipper from the skirt on the smaller pillow.

The Solid blue material was the under layer of the skirt. Not bad for a first time and considering I didn't have a pattern to go off of.
